Retail technology specialist Barron McCann has appointed Ian Thomas as Chief Executive Officer. He will work alongside the company’s directors to develop its longer-term strategy, while also joining the Barron McCann Group Board.

Scott Watson, Co-owner of Barron McCann Group, said:

“Ian brings a wealth of experience from an impressive career leading technology services organisations through periods of growth, transformation and operational excellence.

“Building on the already excellent reputation of Barron McCann’s service delivery, Ian will lead the continued scaling of the business in line with our ambitious growth targets.

“Ian’s appointment is another investment in our future. Just as importantly, his character and approach align naturally with our family culture and the way we do business. I’m confident he will be a great addition to the Group, and I’m excited about what this next chapter will bring as we continue to create new opportunities and build on our success together.”

Commenting on his appointment, Thomas said:

“I’m delighted to be joining Barron McCann and leading the business through its next phase of growth. The quality of people, the strength of culture and the ambition of the organisation were clear from the very first conversations. I look forward to working with the team to build on the company’s strong foundations and continued success.”

The appointment follows a series of developments for the business, including a three-year contract with Entain to provide technology support across more than 2,000 Ladbrokes and Coral locations in the UK. The appointment comes as Barron McCann prepares to enter its 50th anniversary year in 2027.
