Wilko has partnered with Mirakl to expand its online marketplace, making it easier for third-party sellers to join and offer more products to customers.

The technology will simplify the joining process for Wilko’s existing marketplace, automate day-to-day operations and help the retailer monitor seller performance. It will also make it easier for existing sellers to manage their businesses through the platform.

The investment will support Wilko’s plans to grow its health and beauty, home and pet categories, adding to its existing range of everyday essentials.

Alex Simpkin, CEO of CDS Superstores, said: “We’re investing in wilko’s digital infrastructure, backing the brand with leading technology to support its growth for the long term.

“wilko has been part of family life for nearly 100 years. Everyday essentials and family value are at the heart of what it stands for, and that will continue to guide our investment.”

He added: “Our established marketplace gives sellers access to an engaged and growing audience who know and trust wilko. Mirakl’s technology will make it easier for them to join us and grow with us, helping us develop our health and beauty, home and pet categories around the needs of our customers.”

The partnership forms part of CDS Superstores’ wider investment in Wilko’s ecommerce operations, which includes Google Cloud technology and AI-powered product search.
