Sephora UK has unveiled opening dates for four new stores this summer, including its first-ever locations in Scotland and the launch of a new boutique store format in London.
The beauty retailer described the expansion as a “Sephora Summer”, with new stores opening in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Carnaby Street and Old Spitalfields Market as part of its wider UK growth strategy.
The first Scottish location will open at St James Quarter in Edinburgh on 9 July, offering 4,961 sq ft of retail space. This will be followed by a second Scottish store at Silverburn in Glasgow on 13 August, spanning 5,048 sq ft.
Both stores will stock a range of Sephora-exclusive and selective beauty brands, including Rhode, Haus Labs, Makeup by Mario, Merit Beauty, INNBeauty Project, Tower 28 and Half Magic.
Alongside the Scottish expansion, Sephora UK is introducing a smaller boutique-style format for the first time. The concept will debut on Carnaby Street on 23 July, followed by Old Spitalfields Market on 30 July.
The retailer said the boutique format was developed following customer feedback gathered through in-store conversations, social media engagement and post-visit surveys. Designed for convenience-led shoppers, the stores will offer curated product selections, expert advice and quicker visits compared with Sephora’s larger destination stores.
The move forms part of Sephora UK’s ambition to have 20 stores operating across the UK by the end of 2026, combining large-format locations in key regional cities with more compact stores tailored to high-footfall urban locations.
Sarah Boyd, Managing Director of Sephora UK, said:
“This summer marks a major milestone in Sephora UK’s journey as we continue to bring our unique beauty experience to more communities across the country. We’re incredibly excited to be opening our first stores in Scotland, giving beauty lovers access to some of the world’s most sought-after brands and exclusive products for the very first time. At the same time, we’re proud to be introducing our new boutique format in London, a concept shaped directly by customer feedback and designed to complement the way people shop today.”
Since entering the UK market in 2023, Sephora’s store openings have become major retail events, featuring local entertainment, brand activations and community-focused experiences. The retailer confirmed that all four openings will follow a similar approach this summer.
