SKIMS has appointed former Victoria’s Secret executive Annika Pieridou Ocharan as Retail Operations Director for EMEA as the brand continues to build out its physical retail operations across the region.

She confirmed the appointment on LinkedIn, where she said her new role will include helping to shape and scale SKIMS’ retail operations, supporting its teams and bringing the brand’s retail experience to more customers across EMEA.

Announcing her appointment, she said:

“After many years in retail, I couldn’t be more excited to start this new chapter with a brand that is changing the way we think about product, experience and retail.”

She added that as SKIMS continues to grow, she is looking forward to helping “shape and scale” its retail operations across the region.

She will also be reunited with Judy Genovese, who joined SKIMS as Senior Director of Retail EMEA earlier this year.

Genovese joined the business in May with responsibility for driving in-store performance, new market expansion and team development across EMEA. She previously spent almost a decade in senior retail leadership positions at Victoria’s Secret and has also held roles at Ralph Lauren and retail workforce management technology company StoreForce.

Her appointment came as SKIMS prepared to grow its standalone physical retail presence in the UK, including a 12,000 sq ft flagship at 245-247 Regent Street in London, for which the brand signed a ten-year lease.

The expansion forms part of a wider push to build SKIMS’ physical retail infrastructure across EMEA, with Genovese saying when she joined that the region’s expansion was “just getting started”.

Pieridou Ocharan added:

“Lots to learn, lots to build and plenty to celebrate along the way.”

Her appointment further strengthens SKIMS’ EMEA retail operations team as the digitally-led brand increases its focus on physical stores and international expansion.
