UK ecommerce agency Visualsoft has achieved Shopify Platinum Partner status following nearly 200 Shopify launches, marking a milestone in the company’s three-year investment in the platform.

Shopify-related services now account for approximately 20% of Visualsoft’s business, with projects coming from existing customers and retailers migrating from other platforms.

The achievement reflects a significant shift for the 27-year-old company, which historically developed and operated its own proprietary ecommerce platform.

Following investment from Livingbridge in 2020, Visualsoft began reassessing its platform strategy as more retailers moved towards Shopify. Research commissioned by the company suggested that between 60% and 70% of retailers switching ecommerce platforms were choosing Shopify.

Rather than acquiring an existing Shopify agency, Visualsoft built its capabilities internally, recruiting specialists across development, project management, sales, client services and app development.

Chris Fletcher, CEO at Visualsoft, said:

“We could see very clearly where the market was heading. We had spent more than two decades building our own ecommerce technology, so investing significantly in another platform was a major strategic decision for the business.

We chose to embrace that change rather than fight it. Nearly 200 Shopify launches later, around a fifth of the business is now Shopify-related services and we have reached Platinum status much faster than we originally expected. It shows how quickly both the market and Visualsoft have evolved.”

Visualsoft’s latest market research estimates that the UK Shopify platform services market was worth approximately £63 million in 2025 and could reach £82 million by 2028, representing growth of around 30%.

The company is now expanding its focus beyond ecommerce websites to unified retail, particularly the integration of online and physical shopping experiences through Shopify POS.

In September 2026, Visualsoft opened a new London location combining office space with a retail technology demonstration environment. The space brings together Shopify POS, Visualsoft-developed applications and technology from third-party partners.

Carl Swann, Director of Shopify at Visualsoft, said:

“Achieving Shopify Platinum Partner status so quickly is a significant milestone for Visualsoft and a testament to the talent, commitment and ambition of people across the whole business. It reflects how far we’ve come in a short time, and we expect to build on that momentum as we continue to invest in our people, technology and partnership with Shopify.

“Customer satisfaction drives that investment. We want retailers to feel confident in the advice we give, the solutions we deliver and the support they receive as their businesses grow. That means staying at the forefront of Shopify and unified commerce, turning new capabilities into practical improvements for our clients and better experiences for their customers, online and in store.”
